We lost many great Figures in 2016. David Bowie and Muhammad Ali are to name a few. Well, just when year seemed to be over, it took a few more icons with it.
Carrie Fisher, better known as Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga is said to be buried together with her mother, the evergreen Debbie Reynolds. Todd Reynolds, Fisher’s Brother and Reynold’s son confirmed and further added “My mother and my sister are together right now”. The Joint Funeral of Actresses has no confirmed details.
Fisher who was aboard on an 11 hour long flight from London to Los Angeles on 23 December suffered cardiac arrest. She was removed from the flight and rushed into a nearby hospital where she died on December 27. She died at the age of 60.
The following day her mother, Debbie Reynolds was rushed to hospital because of a stroke. She died at the age of 84.
Billie Lourd Breaks her Silence
The news took the entertainment industry by storm, after all it lost two icons. Following the grief, Billie Lourd (Daughter of Carrie and Debbie’s Granddaughter) finally broker her silence on 2nd January as she went on Instagram to thank the fans for their support and prayers. She said receiving all the prayers and kind words over the past week gave her strength during her hard time.
She also added, “There are no words to express how she misses them both but the support from fans meant the world to her”. Her heartfelt message was accompanied by a vintage photo of her posing with her mother and grandmother as they all smiled for the camera.
So far, there is no confirmation about funeral date or arrangements as the everyone is stilling mourning for the loss of two legends at New Year’s Eve.
