While 2016 was a great year for many things, it was also a time for heartache and grief as the world lost many good souls. We lost many great icons in this year all starting with the sudden death of Alan Rickman and David Bowie in the first month. Following are a few celebs that will missed for a long time.
Bowie died on Jan 10, after a long battle with cancer. He released his new album “BlackStar” only two days before his death. Over a career that expanded 4 decades, he delivered hits like “Space Oddity”, “Under Pressure” and many more.
A legendary singer who was known for his young looks for over 50 years. He died on April 21 at the age of 57 due to a fatal overdose. Just a week before his death, Prince was rushed to hospital after overdosing on a private jet headed to Minnesota from Georgio. President Obama said in a statement,” the world lost a creative icon and I with my family join millions of fans around the world in mourning Prince’s Death”.
Known as Professor Snape and Hans Gruber, Rickman died on 14 January 2016 at the age of 69 after battling with cancer for a long time. Many celebrities paid tribute to the talented actor including Stephen Fry.
A Boxing legend loved all over the world, Muhammad Ali died on 3rd June at the age of 74. in early 1980`s, he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease which was a result of head trauma he suffered during his boxing career. Ali made his last public appearance two months before his death at 22nd Phoenix Annual Celebrity Fight Night.
Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds
Carrie Fisher died on December 27 after going into cardiac arrest four days before aboard a flight. She is known for portraying Princess Leia in Star Wars Franchise apart from being a screenwriter and novelist. Her Mother, Debbie Reynolds died on 28th December (a day after Carrie’s death) due to a stroke. They will have a joint funeral.
